Travel insurance for the businessman or frequent traveller
Frequent travellers include the business man or woman, celebrities, musicians, sports stars and news reporters. If you are a frequent traveller, you will need a travel insurance policy to meet your special needs. Travel insurance covers medical costs for illness or accident, loss or theft of your personal belongings, unexpected changes to your travel plans and compensation if you cancel or cut short your holiday. The frequent traveller must be covered for all of these, but may also need extra cover. On the other hand, because he or she is a frequent traveller, they are also treated differently from the casual holidaymaker. Special travel insurance policies are available for the frequent traveller. The business person will often carry with them special equipment, a laptop computer and maybe samples of the merchandise sold by their business. Sometimes their business equipment and samples may travel separately and not arrive on time. When they reach their destination, the business person may also incur expenses for business equipment hire or emergency courier. Musicians will carry their instruments and special equipment. Sports stars also have their own equipment, such as a set of tennis racquets, or a set of golf clubs. For the musician or the sports star, these special items of equipment are designed for their own personal use and will often be impossible to replace, or their replacement will be expensive. News reporters and their crews carry cameras and other expensive equipment. Frequent travellers must include cover for their equipment in their travel insurance. What about the sports star who is unable to perform due to illness? What about the pop celebrity who is late arriving at his or her destination and has to cancel a concert? They may also find they are in breach of contract if they have to cancel a concert due to illness or non-arrival. Also the celebrity may be at a higher risk for hijack or kidnap and will probably require additional personal accident cover. Each case is different, but the frequent traveller needs to be covered for loss of income and other consequences should they fall sick or be unexpectedly delayed. If you are a frequent traveller and have the right insurance, you can be confident that you will be able to claim adequate compensation.
